This is a great guide! But my dreams don’t fit in this. They confuse me sometimes. Like, just three nights ago, I had a dream that I was in an old school that was converted into some type of barber shop and there was a dead woman who I didn’t recognize frozen in the floor, which was made of ice. And then after that I went outside of the building and I was with my friend, running from something or someone.

I doubt you can help me understand this; I actually might start seeing a shrink about it, because I just keep having these scary, confusing dreams and I really just want to understand why they’re happening and what they mean.

Goodness gracious, I feel so trapped by this confusion.

Awesome article…thank you. I’ve often been interested in what my dreams mean and then having my cousin Ryan Hurd show me a lot of interesting stuff about dreams I have recently been paying more attention to what I’m dreaming about.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve woken up to the teeth falling out dreams and being so so very distraught. However, the way you put it…simply growing up, I may actually look forward to these dreams.

Most of these are recurring themes for me, especially being chased. I rarely dream of celebrities, and when I do they usually aren’t the ones splashed all over the media. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever dreamed of giving birth, although I’ve dreamed of pregnancy and neglected children. Sometimes I’m not even sure if the child is even mine, but somehow I know that I’m responsible for caring for it. Two variations I’ve had on the theme of teeth falling out are still having my baby teeth or discovering dental work or apparati I didn’t know I had, like finding out the retainer I didn’t think I had worn since junior high being in my mouth this whole time.

Am I ever glad I’ve never dreamed of a celebrity! A recurring one for me is the paralysis one…where I’ll be in some weird situation but know I’m sleeping and try to wake myself up, but can’t, but then I do, but really I’m not awake, I’m still dreaming…until I finally do wake myself up. Very frustrating, and strange.

I used to have the teeth falling out one when I was much younger. One other recurring one is I’ll be riding a bike or in a car going down a hill, then hit a bump or a ramp and then I’ll just start flying. It’s really scary actually, not the “I’m free and flying!” feeling, but more of a “holy shit, I’m really high, that’s gonna hurt” feeling.

Dreams are so interesting. And they can be a fun escape sometimes.
