About

Living Holistically means incorporating all aspects of yourself – your mind, body, spirit, community and environment. This website is dedicated to re-educating the world about what it truly means to be holistic, and how this can lead to health and happiness as defined by YOU, not anyone else.

Do you think that being healthy equals being boring?

In your mind, does the word “holistic” conjure up images of wheatgrass shots, people sitting cross-legged for hours at a time, and nights spent performing rituals to the sun gods?

Can you ever go out and have a burger and beer again and say out loud that you are living holistically?

Yes, you CAN.

Contrary to popular belief, participating in a holistic lifestyle does not mean burying your head in the sand so that you don’t have to witness all those “unhealthy” people still having fun. This site is designed to educate you on the true nature of being holistic, one that is hardly black and white. It falls more in the gray area. Just stay open-minded, accept what comes up along the way, and most important, enjoy the journey!

Time to learn how to be healthy and have fun (at the exact same time).

Christine Garvin, MA, NE, holds a Masters in Holistic Health Education and is a certified Nutrition Educator. After many years of trying to eat the “perfect” diet (which completely depends on who you are talking to and when), and to stay at home on Friday nights so as to not be swayed to drink a glass of wine, she decided to return to her fun roots, but to bring along all the ways she was educated about health and well-being in the interim. Her many trials and failures led her to believe that life is all about balance, and this is what a person living holistically strives to do.

Though her journey continues until this day (and every one for the rest of her life), she sees her purpose in helping others to navigate the many ups and downs of their own process of “health-discovery.”

She currently co-edits the website Confronting Love along with writing, editing, and producing content for this site. She has written for Conscious Dancer Magazine, Healthier Talk, and Mookychick. She previously edited the spiritual travel magazine, Brave New Traveler and continues to write for BNT and across the Matador Network. She has also worked for Clif Bar as a Nutritionist and Holistic Health Educator, along with maintaining a private practice. An avid traveler, dancer and performer, she greatly enjoys bridging her passions whenever possible.
